Fun at first, but gets old quick.

I bought Animal Crossing quite some time ago and I have to say, it was fun... for a while.
When I first took it out of the case and played it, I created my town and named my character but I was instantly horrified by the graphics. Not only are they very pixelated, they are a bit too childish for my taste. You'll see what I mean.
When the gameplay actually started, I was relatively pleased. The way they have it mapped out is very simple and you are instantly used to it. As for the storyline.... wait.. there is no real storyline, you move to a town and you live there.
The game starts out too slowly. You have to do many meaningless tasks for a while before you can do what you want and it takes too long to be able to enjoy all the different parts of the game (Fishing, bug catching, fossil hunting etc.). But once you can do all of those things, it's quite a fun game.
One thing that has its pros and cons is that the game plays in real time. If you are playing at supper time, the game will be at supper time and it will probably be sunset. If it's winter in real life, it's winter in the game. This was cool at first, but it makes the game take too long to do everything. You will be bored of the game before seeing all the seasons. Also, the game goes on whether you're playing or not.
Though this game COULD keep you interested for years, I highly doubt that as it's too slow paced (And I love Harvest Moon games).
The music gets rather repetitive, as do the sound effects, but that's not so bad as you (probably) won't be playing for hours on end.
There are some neat extras in the game, such as traveling to other memory card's towns and that the residents of your town can move from one memory card to another when they are both in the slots. But there are some really pointless extras that they threw in just so they could make some money, such as attaching a Gameboy Advance to travel to Animal Island.
