Completely underrated.

Well I've got to say, I was dubious. Glorified card game right? And because of my dubious attitude I found it difficult to understand, but when I did, I was off and I loved it. Amazing story and cool graphics. You play as an abandoned girl whose only possession in life is a strange rune she carries on her back, which allows her to summon and control strange creatures and spells through the use of cards.
Although your choice is limited at first, you quickly start collecting cards. Also, by collecting the crystals that drop from foes you can upgrade your cards once they receive enough experience. Each card has a unique ability and there are some really cool ones out there to collect (and some not so good). For me the best was the red Dragon, although I enjoyed collecting all the dragons. I also enjoyed transforming into various animals.
In short this isn't a game for the lazy gamer. You need to practice before the controls become clear and there's a lot of story involved in the plot. At times it's also frustratingly difficult (I'm looking at you dessert and volcano lands) but I really enjoyed playing this and it is now firmly set in my top 10 favourite games. Sadly underrated and unknown.
