Fun but gets tiring after a while.

I bought this game because I am a fan of mortal kombat. The storyline for this one is the deadly alliance won and they were going to resurrect the dragon king's army. The dragon king comes in and raiden, shang tsung and quan chi team up to try and stop him but raiden sacrificed his life in an attempt to destroy him but the dragon king was unaffected. The list of characters is great. The fighting mechanics are improved from the last installment, only this time no impaling and no reversals, instead we have the lovely combo breaker which stops your opponent from dealing out heavy damage. Konquest mode has been updated and is now a vast amount of worlds, and you play as a new character named shujinko. Basically it's like a training mission blending with how the story began, you'll meet familiar faces along the way, during scenes when you're talking to someone their mouth animation is a little chintzy, plus the voice acting isn't all that, but konquest is where most of the krypt items can be unlocked. There is also chess kombat which is chess combined with kombat so it's a fun combination of strategy and kicking ass. The last mode of gameplay is puzzle kombat, it is very fun, it's like tetris and other puzzle games but while you play puzzles above, below you see two celebrity deathmatch (but better) kind of animated mk characters fighting. Overall this game is great while it lasts.
