Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness User Review
XD? Is that Pokemon?
Pokemon XD: gale of darkness is the spin-off of last Pokeman game on the Gamecube.
If you're not familiar with Pokemon then this is how it goes. You start off a new trainer and you get to pick one out of three Pokemon, but XD does not start this way. You already have your Pokemon partner, and your mother and father work in a lab. They are working on a new project that can steal Pokemon from trainers (it could be bad if in the hands of a bad guy). After finding out that Lugia has become a Shadow Pokemon and that the returning Cipher is controlling Pokemon hearts again it's up to you and your partner Pokemon (Eevee) to save them with the new project that the Pokemon lab worked on (your father) called the snag machine. Your long adventure to save shadow Pokemon and return them normal again has begun.
Gameplay
Gameplay is the same as other Pokemon games, a turn on turn on battle, but with two Pokemon at the same time. Double battles basically. You steal Pokemon from the bad (evil) trainer the has a shadow Pokemon and turn it normal again by training it or by the purify chamber. After the Pokemon has become pure it then can level up.
Lifespan
Unless you're a big Pokemon fan then the long adventure and purifying Pokemon is your thing. If not the game can get very boring and hard.
Graphics
The graphics are just done very well. Thumbs up for them. The towns show the power of the graphics in a great way.
Purifying Pokemon gets tiring after a while. But if you beat the game then you can connect or GBA with your Pokemon game to trade your Pokemon from XD to your handheld version.
