A Boy and His Blob is an 8-bit classic from the NES days released in 1989. A new announcement in Nintendo Power magazine says that developers WayForward, the guys behind LIT, are doing a remake for Wii.
The remake will feature hand-drawn backgrounds and animations. A side-scrolling platformer at heart, gameplay will remain unchanged, the boy feeds jellybeans to his blob in order to change him into various objects. Currently the list of things that blob can morph into looks like this: cannon, ladder, trampoline, anvil, bubble, parachute, human, rocket and hole.
A Boy and His Blob Wii is penned for release this Fall. It's a full blown disc release, not WiiWare.

A boy and his blob was an awesome game back in the day! I hope this turns out great.

That looks really nice from that small shot there. Hopefully it won't end up like the DS remake. And Game boy remake.

Hopefully this one will turn out decent. The original was horrible! But pretty interesting concept. That is all.

It looks wiiware/ds in 2d graphics, a disc release? Erm no. Where's a 3d game with 3d motion play based around said blob? Imagine throwing/batting the blob around 3d worlds and changing the blob into other objects and using the motion in creative ways. I'm getting seriously fed up with 3d parties.
