"It's our goal this year to bring the fun back to hockey video games. NHL 2K9 for Wii includes the full feature set as available on other platforms, and added Wii Remote controls and other exciting features specific for the Wii console will allow dedicated fans the opportunity to fully enjoy and embrace NHL hockey in a brand new experience".

They were best on Dreamcast when SEGA still had the rights to the title.

Finally! About two years late, but finally we receive a legitimate hockey title on the Wii. This game has so much potential, with the wiimote being used for stickhandling and such. Who knows, maybe they will include a goalie mode where you use the nunchuck as the glove and stick as the blocker.

They should make nhl Wii skins to put on the console itself and not just for the remotes.
