Anyone seen the episode where Meowth first learns to talk? It's heart wrenching stuff. Bai bai!

Yes, I remember. I even remember when Ash was turned into stone and pikachu starting shocking him in the theaters. And all the kids were crying while I was laughing like crazy. I'm a bad person.

I saw that already at Gamestop! I was waiting for something like this to come to the Wii. Pokemon on Big Screen! Anyways, is this like Pokemon Coliseum? I want it.

That is kind of a sweet boxart.

Yes that episode was very sad.

I used to be a big Pokemon fan (wasn't everyone?). But now they are just getting derivative and uninspiring. Season 1 rocked. Season 2 was fine. Season 3, well let's not talk about future re-iterations of the beloved pokemon franchise.

I'm learning to drive and I'm still excited to get this. Is that pathetic or what?

It also shows the box at the back of the Diamond & Pearl guide book.

It's so cool how they put Dialga and Palkia, and the three stater pokemon evolved.

Ok the thing about meowth is random, but isn't this the poster that came with pokemon diamond and pearl? Are you sure this is the real final boxart for this game?

Avatar

Rygar said:

It's not pathetic Dox. Nobody said the games were for kids. They're actually very good games and enjoyable for adults too.

That was during the first few seasons when the show didn't suck. Somewhere in the middle of the Jhoto region, the series got old. Why not make a Pokemon MMORPG?

Meowth would be good for ssbb. And I hope that this is sort of like pokemon colosseum except there's like grass and stuff to find wild pokemon and gym leaders.

Hey it kind of looks like the japanese box art ay? But yea still very good looking, why the hell is pikachu on it? I'm sick of seeing pikachu. Why can't they show some other pokemon instead, like I know pikachu is the mascot of the pokemon franchise because he is the main character in the episodes when it comes to the pokemon, but hey show some other mon for a change.

Anybody notice the wi-fi in the corner? is this the first game with online play for Wii to come out in the US?

Scooby Jew said:

Nice box art, I especially like the "Wi-Fi compatible" part in the upper left corner. First I've seen it on a Wii game, and it damn well better not be the last. Brawl FTW.

Lol, they can never get enough of the giant enemy crab thing. Kingler should have been on the cover as a another stab at Sony.

I just got "Pokemon Pearl" on Friday, and I sure do hope that "Pokemon Battle Revolution" is going to be the sequel to "Pokemon XD", and not like "Pokemon Stadium".

I remember that episode! And by the way, that caption? IS AWESOME. Say hello to my display picture on msn.

I got Pokemon Pearl on the day as soon as it came out, I woke up my mom early in the morning (since we were going to church anyway) so we could get it ASAP! The game is awesome, so this one must be 10 times as awesome as Pokemon D and P (hopefully).

Gonzo said:

B Darius, I heard you can connect and switch your Pokemon from Pearl and Diamond to Pokemon Battle Revolution.

I like the look of the giant penguin. I'm getting this.

The penguin is Empoleon and I have him in my Pearl game. He is really awesome.

Not to dampen anyone's spirits but I'm kind of disappointed with this box art compared to the Japanese version. But the game'll be pretty much the same so it won't make much of a difference.

Ok guys, I have been following the PS3 news for a long time and I am still confused about exactly what Sony did to get this inside joke about massive damage against them. Will someone please clarify? Was it a Sony tech demo showing a giant crab? Thanks in advance. I look forward to making fun of Sony by saying "Massive Damage!" all the time as soon as I understand the damn joke.

I'm still trying to figure out why Plant pokemon are Water pokemons weakness.

PHiRE said:

I would guess it's because plants drink water to live (from the soil etc). @Elementrat: It started when some Sony guy at E3 was describing a game, he said it was based on real battles that actually took place in Japan, then in the next sentence he's like "So here's this giant enemy crab". The video is on this site, on the "2006 Awards" page.

Avatar

Elementrat said:

Lol okay that makes sense. Thanks. But where does the Massive Damage thing come in? I have seen it used a a joke multiple times.

The game comes with a pikachu lv 10 that knows Volt tackle, surf, tackle and some move that I don't remember, but if you want to make fun of that pikachu I'd feel pretty embarrassed.

Avatar

Pumpkin pie said:

Oh the pikachu knows tail whip along with the other moves. It comes with a light ball. And by the way, if you have empoleon don't evolve prinplup because steel opens up a wolrd of weaknesses in the elite four which is part of the reason I have a pochama (english name sucks). you can temporarily swich your pokemon to PBR. If anyone has a question I know all about the game so just post.

Avatar

Crimson Hawk said:

Oh. So I guess I should use him when against the E4. Thanks for the info PP!

MrDziekuje said:

Empoleon is actually isn't that bad type-wise. He becomes weak against ground and fighting moves, and he's normally effected by fire. There's the negatives. For the positives he gains resistances to dragon, ghost, psychic, grass, rock, normal, flying, bug, and dark moves. He's also got a double resistance to steel and ice. Plus he is not effected by poison moves. So Empoleon is great to have in your party.

stinky12694 said:

I have all three starters, Infernape (who was my original starter) has great offense, Empoleon is resistant to 12 out of 17 types which is pretty good (the best defense is spiritomb [no supereffective hits]) and Torterra has enough hp to withstand A LOT of attacks, and he has moves to regain health. So stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

I don't mean to disappoint you, but that surfing pikachu is ALWAYS female! At least for me. I don't know.

Avatar

TruBlu said:

I think you should have put a Kingler instead of Krabby. Giant enemy crab! *nod*.

Avatar

davyt 0247 said:

A pikachu in the game knows Discharge, (You can use it thankfully), it is a move that releases a electric blast across the entire field, (hits your partner in a double battle, unless you have a ground type!) Trust me, I have used discharge and I have KOd two Pokemon at the same time more than once. If the "giant enemy crab" you are referring to is the blue one on the left, that is Dialiga, you can transfer you Pokemon from the DS games to the Wii wirelessly, Gonzo.

Avatar

Deacon Daughter said:

Ya know? You can transfer all of your favs onto PBR and play w/them in TOTALLY AWESOME 3-D action! My shiny Dialga would look so cool using dragonbreath.

I think they should make a pokemon game that comes with headphones and you can shout a command into the speaker headphone and it will do it. And you should be able to tell it to dodge, jump, spin, etc. And use strategy, just like in the tv show.
