Well, Beat is going to be an unlockable character. I mean, he isn't the star of Sega. Sonic is. And like I said, I will be getting this game for sure. This + me being a Sonic fan + I LOVE dream match ups. And Sega is one of the few (besides Nintendo) who can accomplish that. This game in my opinion, is a must.
