A hospital based in Edmonton, Canada has its rehab patients using Wii to help treat their movement and balance woes.
One such patient is Albert Liaw, who uses the boxing game in Wii Sports. Liaw, himself a former boxer went down in the ring, causing a brain injury.
"When I first played I was in a wheelchair, now I'm standing and I can box normal".
They tried to make me go to Wii-hab, I said no - no - no.

Haha. There was this one daily show skit where this guy is addicted to the Wii and it is like the show intervention or whatever and they get him off his Wii addiction. Very funny, look it up on youtube.

I always hear about older people always playing the Wii.

Wii-hab is for people with disabilities and idiots. I don't fit in either of those categories. I think that's pretty cool how Wii's actually helping some people physically while still being entertaining and innovative at the same time. It's just the God console, there's no comparison.

This is great publicity for Nintendo. Not to mention a fun way to get back into the swing of things after an emergency. This kind of reminds me of yesterday at Six Flags Great America when they had a room with 8 Wiis in it for people to play. These are good things.

Yes! Is there a such thing as PS3-Habilitation? Didn't think so! Poor guy. At least he can box virtually.
