Super Paper Mario User Review

A good, solid side-scrolling experience.

So one day I decide that I'm going to buy this game, because it sounds like a really awesome side-scroller. It's gotten good reviews and all that. Then I play it.

The game is great. The graphics are very stylized, and colorful; unlike several overrated Microsoft and Sony war games, which "show-off graphics", even though every color is that same dull grey. The sound is dazzling and always fits with the situation. And, unlike many others, I am sure, I like the lack of any voice acting.

But onto the important matter; The gameplay. The gameplay involves side-scrolling with a few more modern kicks to it. Every part of the game is fun, except a few problems where you're stuck wandering around trying to find something specific. It's unfortunate that there isn't a little more RPG element to it, but the classic side-scrolling experience makes up for it.

The only real problem with this game is the (for the most part) lack of replay value. Sure, you try to get new recipes and find all of the Pixls, but that doesn't keep you entertained forever; Especially if you're continually trying to beat the Pit of Trials and you lose on the 100th room. That was when I quit playing; Out of spite and boredom. But it lasted a fair time, and was addicting while it lasted.

Basically, get this game if you don't want weeks of replay value after you're finished. If you want lots of replay value, get a real RPG. But still, the game is awesome. I would say that if you are thinking of getting it but haven't, then you should.
