WarioWare: Smooth Moves User Review
WEE! It's a Wii Wario!
The Wario-Ware series has always made everyone laugh, get angry in good ways, and make fun of each other. This is the most truthful statement you can make about Wario-Ware: Smooth Mooves for the Nintendo Wii. The game uses the Wiimote in ways not thought possible by man... and god are they funny.
The story is that Wario stumbles into "The Temple of Form", and finds the ancient "Form Baton" (Wiimote). That's pretty much the story. But who cares about the stories in Wario-Ware, it's all about the minigames!
You use the baton in many different ways from the basic "Remote" form where you just hold it normally to the "Elephant" form where you literally put it to your nose. Before each game, a quick flashcard comes up that shows which position you should prepare for. When you engage a new form for the first time, a long introduction comes up and, in a very Ben Stein voice, explains to you how to use the Wiimote properly. The games are VERY funny, and doing them is just as funny as watching them be performed.
The only problem with the game is that it is WAY too short. I beat the game in a day. One day. In a few hours too. The single player mode has roughly fifteen courses or so to play through, but once you've played them the first time, the laughs won't necessarily be there the second time.
This could be the ULTIMATE party game right now; especially since you can have up to TWELVE people play each other, each sharing the Wiimote. There are about five different modes to play in, and each are SUPER fun, especially when people who've never played before go up and give it a shot.
In the end, the game is fun, quirky and a blast to play with friends, but won't do much for just one person. Rent it, maybe buy it if you have frequent parties, and play the hell out of it with friends.
