If I remember rightly one of the boss fights is against a fetus hanging from a noose so yeah, it's fairly gory.

A brilliant move by Namco (or more appropriately, Namcot) to port this game to the Turbo back in the day. This is one of the more popular games for the system (at least in America) and is a great linear game.
