I personally really like the Tales of series stories more than other rpgs. Or maybe that's just because of their skit system.

Many rpgs have better stories than final fantasy games. I only played final fantasy games for the job systems which seems to be going down the drain lately, as for story-wise I think the tales series has better storytelling and star ocean also.
