Animal Crossing Wii MMO?

Edge Magazine are reporting that Animal Crossing on the Wii will be an MMO game. The news comes courtesy of one of their Japanese sources, but no official confirmation is available at this stage.

MMO stands for Massively Multiplayer Online, meaning an online game supporting hundreds (or thousands) of players simultaneously.

Well, that's a pretty obvious thing to do- only problem is that Nintendo really needs to learn how to do Online right. I swear, if there's anything Nintendo can't do right, it's online play. Friends Code, and lack of a lobby, sucks righteously.

This probably means that we may have our own town and to visit our freinds we have to have their friend code, either that or we could have "town" servers. Like the "realms" in WOW, each having a name and a set population. Either way it sounds pretty sweet.

Oh, man. I really hope so. This game's already pure awesomeness, and this is basically one of the first details I've ever heard of it. Animal Crossing on GC was a close second compared to Melee as being the best game on the console.
