A special version of AOL Instant Messenger is apparently on its way to the Wii, the program is called "WiiAIM". The development team behind it also created AIM for a little known handheld machine called the PSP.
It's hard to see this taking off without a real keyboard to use.

Wii's World is not officially affiliated with Nintendo! (but they wish we were).

A keyboard for this would be nice. It would be too hard to respond fast. This can be good with the right elements.

Zomg! MSN IS better! But this is still pretty cool. Maybe even cool enough for me to finally make an AIM account. I have neglected to do so for quite a while now. I don't see MSN coming anytime soon as its owned by Microsoft.

AOL make your decision, are you on Nintendo's side or are you on sony's side.

What a great idea! It is good to see people developing for the channels. A Bluetooth keyboard would not be impossible.

MSN- stupid. AIM needed to be on the Wii, awesome!

USB keyboard. That works for most of my stuff.

This would not fly without keyboard support. Sorry, the wiimote does not win this one.

Mayhaps a sidekick-style wiimote slip in attachment a la the classic controller mock up? Or, just a keyboard. Or even usb keyboard support. I don't actually care.

Wiiman, it should plug into the nunchuck/classic controller usb port.

They should make a Wii Keyboard.

Yeah a Wiiboard would be perfect for this and web browsing.

Awww. I wanted MSN. I tried MSN Webmessenger on Wii's Opera channel. No such luck, heh.

Keyboard is a must or Wii can forget about it, just like playstion 3 can forget about being the must have gaming console. Sony you dropped the ball, sucks to be you.

Homegrown, nice! Wiiboard!
TDS said:
Oooooh. A Wiiboard. I like that name. Nintendo better copyright that in a hurry! Attaches right to the Wiimote. Nice and small, no keypad or F-Keys needed. That would be handy!

Did none of you notice the 2 usb ports on the back of your Wii? Duh, usb keyboard.
Gonzo said:
Good information anyway. The only bad thing, like they said is that there is no keyboard or anything like that.

All right. Only going to say once. If drunk and want to read too bad. Not going to repeat myself. Wii is great and the whole WORLD is on it's side now. The whole WORLD. Bush, iraq, david spade. Mike tyson, whatever!

Pssh. After I got out of my multi-day span of playing Zelda non-stop, I went to meebo, a messenger site. It works, if you have an internet connection. I thought about the USB ports, but I don't think a wireless keyboard would work. Anyone tried it?
