Apple set to dominate DS lulz

Greg Joswiak from Apple Inc has spoken out about the gaming capabilities of their iPhone and iPod Touch products.

"There are already so many games for the iPhone and iPod Touch, and as we look at it, to us, it really seems this is the future of gameplay. Whereas a lot of these devices like Nintendo DS and Sony PSP are more in the past. The computer power and the 3D graphic power here is significantly greater, so this allows people to do higher quality games".

Greater 3d graphic power? Wow! That sounds all kinds of awesome. Shigsy just peed his Japanese pants, Nintendo's days are numbered.

Electronics have been in the process of combining over the years, but I don't necessarily see the iPhone taking over DS sales. At what point do you NOT want to be able to have a conversation on your cell phone while playing a video game? I know I've put the phone on speaker (or used a headset) to talk to someone while playing my DS and Wii.

Oh, you mean me, right? Jk. Anyways, apple won't keep up with the DS nor the DSi because from what I'm seeing here, the itouch/phone games are fairly difficult to fluently play. And it just doesn't feel the same. This sucks, I hate apple. Personally, their computers suck too.

Did it occur to them that by the time they've made a game worth playing Nintendo might have moved on? Wake up apple, stick to ipods.

Okay I have a DS and an iPod Touch. Many of the iPod Touch games have great graphics and are much cheaper than a DS game, but the lack of physical buttons make the games rather boring and most of the games are quick pick up and play time wasters. They are just too hard to control. Maybe sometime in the future Apple will make a device with actual buttons. Until then the DS will rule.

Whatever handheld gaming sucks anyways, if I want to play games that play like the games of 10 years ago then I will play on consoles from 10 years ago. I have psp and ds and they just collect dust.

So how do I control theses games in a refined and comfortable manner, without a proper handheld shape or control layout? How do I fps on an iphone, where is the second screen, where is the huge 1st/2nd party support. How do I see what's going on with such glare and reflections on the screen as I tilt and move. You haven't thought this out at all have you Greg Joswiak? I'm now rolling my eyes at the retarded.

In New Zealand you have to lay down $NZD1000, or $USD530 with an iphone with no plan. How many people would fork out that much for one for the kids?
