Wiimote game for the blind

Wiimote game for the blind

Developers at MIT have revealed a new gaming experience called AudiOdyssey. It runs on the PC platform, but has the option of using a Wiimote too if Bluetooth is available.

Most interestingly, AudiOdyssey is a game aimed at blind and partially sighted people, trading high-end graphics for immersing audio instead.

Players assume the role of a fictional DJ named "Vinyl Scorcher". Gameplay revolves around creating layered beats to impress a crowd, this is done by swinging the remote in time.

I wonder if there'll be a platformer for the blind next?

That's a good idea.

Nintendo is nice.

Sorry to sound rude and inconsiderate, but I don't think there are a lot of blind video game players (puts on suit and armor and shield and awaits to be flamed).

Interesting.

There are some. My five year old blind daughter loves Wii music.

You would be amazed how many blind kids play by sound. My daughter loves Wii bowling and does better than we do, lol. Good idea about the platformer.
