Australian Nintendo fans can expect the Wii to launch on December the 7th, priced at $399.95 AUS dollars. The box will have the same contents as the US release: The console, one Wiimote, one nunchuk, the cables and Wii Sports.

In Australia Electronic Boutique will definitely have a preorder system up and running by (at a guess) Mid to Late November. Myer has a preorder (which sucks) but if you're desperate you can do that. You basically buy a $40 Myers card and write down your name, address etc. and let Myers take care of that. They'll ring you when the console comes in, and you bring the $40 gift card back with the reciept and they'll give you your Wii. As I said, only if you're desperate. Can't wait for Wii. $400 AUD isn't that bad I guess, better than X360 and $1000 AUD PS3.

That is wicked. I'm going to get one, better then the x-box 360 and PS3 any day.

Toys'R'Us has a pre-order system. Order now with $50 deposit and get a free game with the WII upon purchase.
Re: Edy said:
I have also pre-ordered Wii at Toys'R'Us, but I think the free game you receive will be Wii Sports which would suck. Here's hoping for a free choice of a game, ZELDA!

I'd feel ripped off too if the free game was Wii Sports!

Jimmy you are forgetting the Myer preorder also includes $600 worth of coupons that are specifically for controllers, games, DS, home theatre system as well as an LCD/Plasma TV. "The free game will not be wii sports", that comes straight from the toys'r'us head office. If any branch says otherwise, then they are mistaken. I personally am going for the myer deal, because the discount coupons will do a lot for paying off controllers and games, almost to the value of a free game. In addition, if you are a Myerone member, you also get a GT Series Pro 2 game for free. So I definitely like the Myer deal the best.

Hey I thought I was the only Aussie that posted on this whole website! And I like that Myers deal, but I'm going for EB. I got about five $30 coupons for it so that saves me $150 already. Wouldn't want em to go to waste.

Man I thought it was coming to Austrailia in November, ah well. At least it will be well worth the wait and $400 isn't that much.

Hey don't forget me, I'm aussie and in Brisbane electronic boutique started accepting preorders about 2 weeks ago. I already have $140 in a weeks work and when I reach $200 that's when I'm putting it on my preorder for the wii. Then I'm saving for a new tv so I'm all set for about a month there.
random hero said:
You might want to pre-order asap because of the supposed shortage. My local eb has taken about 10-15 preorders a day since the release date was announced.
tabsina said:
As long as you preorder, Nintendo will provide them to Australia. They said something along the lines of "we will give enough Wiis to Australia to *at least* meet the preorders".
ganondorfrules said:
I hope so but I'm doing it next week and I'm hoping to get 2 games with the wii besides wii sports do they take preorders for the games yet or just the console so far?
assmaster said:
I had better preorder then. Yea this could be big but Australia is such a small market that I can't see why they would really bother, just like they didn't with the gamecube. I haven't seen a Nintendo ad since the N64. For the world that counts Wii is probably going to go well, in Australia people will probably just be wondering what the hell a Wii is. Then when Microsoft and Sony decide to make their own "wii-motes" for the 360 and PS3 most Aussies will think they're geniuses for being so original.

Anybody know if Wii sports is in a real dvd case not a flippy cardboard box like the us?
