Tonya Carrington, a woman based in the UK has spoken out against bad words included in the DS title Scrabble 2007 Edition. She bought the game for her eight year old son to help him improve his vocabulary, but was shocked when it threw up words like tits and F-bombs. She's now urging other parents to stay away from it:

"I was mortified. It's disgraceful. I bought it at Asda and the packaging said it was suitable for young children. Scrabble is a game most families have around the house. I've banned him from playing it because I don't want him learning these sorts of words".

Concerned parents should be aware that there's also a Junior Edition of the game which doesn't feature any swears.

Words are just words. I think that they only become offensive if they are put into context. More often than not, really young kids don't know the meaning of obscene words when they first pick it up. It's only when parents teach them about the meaning attributed to the word, then it becomes taboo in the child's point of view. To Ms Tonya Carrington, I guarantee that your kid already knows about F-bombing on tits. It's inevitable.

Moral of the story, play the board game Scrabble and get a real video game. Asda is UK Wal-Mart trash and words can have different meanings over time anyway.
