The technology section of the BBC website has a poll up to gauge the popularity of the 3 next-gen systems (apparently there are 2 others besides Wii, whaddya know).
At time of writing Wii is in the lead, although the votes are cast fairly evenly. Wii being on 36%, Xbox360 on 33% and the PoS3 trailing in last at 30%.

I live in the uk and the mentality towards gaming is let's say CHAV/RED NECK and totally based on image not gaming facts.
