DS banned on flights

DS banned on flights

World leader in handheld gaming, the Nintendo DS has been banned from use on Japanese airlines.

The ban stems from its Wi-Fi capabilities which have the potential to interfere with the plane's navigation systems. The ban also affects other devices like wireless mice and PSP (whatever that is).

Funny jokes on the picture. And the shot at the psp was funny as well. Well better find something else to do on the plane.

Well, I guess that would just be common sense really. Unless that person wanted to kick ass online at 30,000 feet and THEN die a horrible death. But hey, maybe it's just me.

That sucks for the Japanese. No DS! Well then again they are saving lives keeping fliers away from their PSPs. Heh heh. Sony.

Only Japan? So no one cares if an American flight goes down in the middle of the Atlantic because of a few navigational errors? Oh well.

What is this PSP you speak of? Japanese flight attendants kept giving me dirty looks when I was on a plane from Tokyo when I played my DS. This was before the ban, but they were obviously scared for the plane's safety. This, above all, is what matters on the plane, so I guess we'll have to beat teh boss when we land.

They also ban the use of Cell Phones on jets when only the oldest of phones, that are no longer made, have any effect on the plane. And even then it is only when the phone is being turned on that it has any affect. This is probably the same thing with the DS. It does nothing to interfere but for fear that it might they ban it.

The PSP is apparently a handheld gaming device. I had to look it up on wikapedia, personally I've never heard of it.
