Europe launch details

Europe launch details

It's just been announced that the Wii will launch in Europe on December the 8th. The price is 249 euros, or 179 pounds in the UK. The bundle is the same as other regions, a console, one wiimote, one nunchuk, cables etc and Wii Sports. Games are expected to retail at 49-59 euros, or 34-39 pounds.

We always get it the worst here in the UK, it's called "Rip-off Britain" for a reason unfortunately. I'm just glad it's coming out before christmas.

Ouch, 179 GBP is a lot more than $250. And the euros are pretty bad too. Glad I don't live in Europe.

Yeah we Europeans seem to get it worst when it comes to release dates for anything. I just wish it was still region free, so that I could get one when it came out in the US.

Bit high 179.99 but I'm still in 100%. I was expecting 139.99 / 159.99 but hey Wii is amazing. Just got back from hospital, my ear feels like someone stuck a wiimote down it. Wish me luck, got to have a brain scan. Let's just say I'm scared. I might not get to play the wii if I've had it, aarrr.

Why are people moaning? 180 is a good price compared to the 450-550 ps3. I'm pleased Sony put back the PS3 so now I can buy the Wii instead.

You are all so impatient. I was thrilled to hear it was coming out in December, compared to the DS and Gamecube a month is nothing. Wii will KILL ps3!

So for us Brits the wii costs just as much as an xbox 360 core and the wii basically is just like the core 360 because they both don't have hard drives anyway!
