Its time has come, the Gamecube will now stop being distributed in Taiwan. Nintendo's Taiwan sales agent Hakuyu confirmed the console would no longer be shipped in the market to make way for the imminent Wii launch there.
During the year of 2006 only 1,000 Gamecube units were ordered. Much greater success is expected with the Wii.

Wii's World is not officially affiliated with Nintendo! (but they wish we were).

He is going to a better place now *sniffle*. WHYYYY!

Oh well the Wii can take his place but the gamecube will always be in our hearts.

NOOO the gamecube was so underrated. I wish it did better.

The Gamecube is going to Video game Heaven. Where The NES, SNES, N64 are now.

It's really sad indeed that GCN is about to retire. It was a really powerful system and it proves that software makes a system. R.I.P GCN. Wii, it's all on you now.

He was a great console for everyone. He helped Nintendo survive the harsh years. He was great with kids, and loved doing things out of the ordinary.

Hmm maybe if I hang on to my gamecube it will someday become an antique!

The very system that brung me joy. WHY DID IT HAVE TO DIE SO YOUNG!? Please Wii, may you follow in Gamecube's footsteps and bring joy to all Nintendo lovers! *sniff*.

See you around gamecube.
Owlboy said:
Gamecube did not die, Wii must remember he is inside us all. Especially the Wii.
DJames said:
It's only dead in Taiwan though, so it's not actually dead is it?

The gc has died, nooo.

Meh. *Plugs my GC controllers into the Wii*.

Everybody got their gamecube like 4 years ago. Now we got the Wii, you can get rid of your cube because the Wii plays cube games. Just sell your cube, even though you won't get any money for it.

Well it is still inside the Wii, hopefully everyone who didn't like the gc will play gc games on the Wii and realize how much they underestimated it.

The PS2 and XBOX couldn't hold a candle to him.

The gamecube's time has not ended, it has only begun. May its memories last forever. But remember as long as there are people caring about the gamecube it won't go away. But then again who cares? I live in the US. HA HA SUCKERS!

Owlboy is right. Every day, we must carry her in our souls, in the fond memory of the legacy she created. Yes, I use 'she' because the Gamecube was like a boat. Sometimes she sprung leaks, but she traveled the sea of gaming nonetheless.

You served me well, even though you broke shortly before the Wii came out. You gave me many great games, and your spirit will live on in the Wii and beyond.

That's sad. Well, it's time to retire like people do. Just like Jordan left, well now Lebron is in.
soulbreather said:
DAMMIT ssb melee was like the best game ever!
Captain Jamesman said:
The Gamecube "games" did not die, but the system itself did.
Gonzo said:
Gamecube, you are now going to meet your fellow ancestors. NES, SNES and N64.
FanBoiz said:
Shame. That's all I can say.
Gonzo said:
Soulbreather, you can still play super smash brothers; melee on the Wii. Like Captain Jamesman said, the "games" didn't die, the system did.
cmk said:
Well, I owned a ps2. But I can't wait to play wind waker, pikmin, metroid, all that on my Wii.

I gave my gcn to my sister when I got Wii, just like my gameboy when I got a ds.
BrothaZ said:
Well, GCN. It's been a good one. I'll miss your menu in the shape of a cube, the sound it made when it spun into the menu (that creeped me out a bit all the time) and of course I'll miss your dorky handle on your ass. See ya in heaven, dude.
JRAPOCALYPSE said:
Well ngc, I will miss your body but not your spirit, for your inner soul has possessed the Wii. Your old body I will keep on my pc (via vga box) while I enjoy your new found spirit and games between your old body and your new. So hang on ngc, the Wii will carry your spirit and soul to gaming heaven.

In Taiwan. But in America there still is. I went to Gamestop yesterday and they had it for $70.
Robert said:
Well, there is a Gamecube in the Wii, so now it's more of a GameRectangle. Oh well. I was sad when my regular, original DS became obsolete because the Lite came out and was half the size. So think of your long-departed friend like my original DS, because he just went on a diet and got skinnier. But trust me. Just play your Wii all weekend (only stopping for food) and you'll have forgotten all about him.
Splintercell4ever said:
Whoa, whoa, wee, wah, whoa. You guys are creeping me out with some of the things you are commenting on this. It is not like the gamecube is like Adam Morrison or something, because that would be something we would really mourn about.
