High School Musical updates, groan
More super exciting news in about Disney's High School Musical. The game will be released in August alongside the movie sequel on the DS as well as Wii.
Wii's outing will feature songs from both movies and they can be sung both solo or as a duet. Imagine. The game will also feature motion captured choreography allowing you to get even further 'into the groove'.
As is often the case, the DS version will be very different. It sees you traveling across the US in various competitions in your search to be the ultimate. You can create your own character or choose from one of six right out of the film.
Needless to say, I'm not looking forward to this one.

This game is doom for Nintendo's image, IMO. Can't they at least make a High School Mosh Pit or something that sees you going around growling and moshing to metal? Dude, that would seriously rule.

This game may actually be a good thing because it will come with a microphone. And my point is that this may open the door to voice recognition (like the ds). So maybe later if other developers follow along with the whole microphone idea, we might soon see online chatting (kind of like xbox live) through wi-fi enabled games. I hope that will soon come true.

I would wager that even the guys programming this game are embarrassed about it. Can't you just see the credits - Programming by: Anonymous, Game play testing: Anonymous, etc.

Even though this will probably be stupid, there are about a million little kids out there who will want this game. So I don't blame them for wanting to make money off this.

I don't mean to sound mean but just because you don't like the idea of a HSM game, you don't have to pray it gets canceled. You're not permitted to buy a game just because it's out on a game system you have. There are some kids who might actually want this game.
