Lil Mac punching out brawlers

Fans of the old Punch Out game on NES will be happy to hear the main character Little Mac is an assist trophy in Super Smash Bros Brawl.

True to his name, he's a little guy, but he still packs a good punch. His attacks include jabs, dashes and a crunching uppercut.


I didn't hear no bell.

I never played Punch Out! But Little Mac seems awesome to use as an AT. It would be cool if you could play as him but this is nice too.

Good thing they made him an assist trophy. To tell the truth, he probably wouldn't have made a very good playable character, his moves would be too limited.

I wouldn't have liked seeing him as a main character. If you want to fight with box-fighters, you should play Mortal Kombat, or something like that.

I thought Punchout was a great game. Little Mac is a great choice for an assist trophy. Not sure I love the 3-D look for the guy, but I've got no complaints otherwise.

Yeah I think he should've been a newcomer. I think a lot of the assist trophies in the game will be newcomers in the next smash bros, if there is going to be one.

Noooo, I want him as playable character - not in a stupid assist form. I hope some assists will change to playable. This one is out but there's a chance for Tails and Knuckles.

Lil Mac would have been a great playable character. Nintendo messed up with this one in my opinion.

Lil' Mac wouldnt work as a newcomer. Think about it, all of his moves would be the same. Punch, jab, uppercut. Probably put fire on the gloves or something but otherwise he will still be plain and boring. Just go play a boxing game (or mortal kombat).

Too bad he's not in 2D like excite bike. Having him in 3D takes away the nostalgia for me.
