Super Mario Galaxy box art

Super Mario Galaxy box art

Well we're being spoiled for box arts today. Fresh from the Nintendo press room here's Super Mario Galaxy.

Mario Galaxy cover

I don't know, that's kind of a strange pose to have on the cover.

I've seen better concept art than that, we have to take what we get. Where's the WiFi logo.

This box art is neat, I can feel the Japanese vibe.

That's probably one of the better covers I have seen.

That looks really good and it is a good pose to show the changing gravity within the game.

The boxart isn't all that great.

Hey, I like the stars! They look squishy (poke).

I think the stars got fat.

Is he falling on his head or jumping feet-first into space?

I knew it would be something like that.

Might be final, but I dunno.

No comment. Not one I can say here, anyways.

I like the one where the stars are coming off his hands better. I have a feeling that they are going to change this one.

You're right. It does look funky.

As much as I want Galaxy, I just won't be looking at the box. I'm a designer, and the logo should be centered, and that's not a good pose for mario.

I dig the marshmallow looking star creatures.

Scooby Jew said:

The title isn't centered, everything's far too shiny, and the stars are obese. Is this a joke? Please tell me it is. Please.

Brilliant. Yet so strange.

Just the kind of crazy pose you'd be expecting from our awesome Mario! I'm getting this game even if it kills me.

Well it's kind of cute, I'll give 'em that.

Metroid just got an Aussie release date for late November. Can't remember exact date. People thinking that Mario will be out for Christmas period.

Those aren't stars, those are star shards.

@WiiObsessed: I'm a designer too and let me ask you this: have you ever heard of a diagonal-composition? If you look at the box-art you'll see the focus is on the diagonal from top-left to bottom-right. And don't you agree Mario's pose reflects the galaxy concept perfectly?

I can say that this one beats the last one. I'm glad I pre-ordered it.

What's actually happening on the cover is that each of those stars have an intense gravitational pull of their own, thus causing Mario (as you see here) to be ripped apart from the limbs.

I though the cover was mario spinning with stars flying out of his hand. This game would be exactly like super mario 64 only with new levels and higher jump. They better have luigi and yoshi.

I'm glad they've changed it from THIS.

So the title is: SUPER MARIO GALAXY though, if you read just those letters which have a star under, you will get this: U R MR GAY. I think someone doesn't respect his job at wiitendo.
