Super Mario Galaxy now sits at the #1 spot on popular site Game Rankings.

Similar to MetaCritics, Game Rankings collects reviews from reputable sources and averages them out into a composite score.

Impressively, of the top 10, five of them are based on Nintendo platforms:

  1. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) - 97.8%
  2. Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) - 97.6%
  3. Metroid Prime (GC) - 96.3%
  4. Soul Calibur (DC) - 96.3%
  5. The Orange Box (PC) - 96.2%

  7. Tekken 3 (PS1) - 95.8%
  8. Resident Evil 4 (GC) - 95.8%

I guess it's kinda official, for the time being Galaxy is the best game ever.

That's awesome, but Bioshock moved around that list for a while too, going as high as #2 (it's now #13). I'm kind of hoping OoT takes the throne back. Also I wish Goldeneye hadn't gotten bumped off. 2 Orange Boxes isn't fair.

Although I'm glad to see galaxy on top, I don't think ANYTHING beats ocarina of time. That gets 100% in my opinion.

Oh yeah, galaxy is so cool. If yoshi was ridable in this game, galaxy would tottaly kick butt with brawl.

Yeah, it was a pretty good game, though it didn't have too much lifespan; I've already beaten it and that was really easy. However, I'm not sure this can be too reliable since Tekken is on that list. I heard that was a button-masher's fantasy come true, and all button-mashing games are horrible.

Soul Calibur for Dreamcast is at 4? That's hilarious. Anyway, good to know that Nintendo is doing so well. Seems like The Orange Box is really getting some good ratings. I would never get it though, the only game I'm interested in that's in it would be Portal, and there's a rumor that that'll be on the Wii, so ehh. I'm surprised no Halo games are here. Probably because people think that Campaign is what it's about; Which it's not, it's the multiplayer. The Campaign sucks indeed. A true shame that no other Sega games are there though. Well, better than the list being dominated by Microsoft or Sony.

Speaking of brawl, I beat the final bowser in mario galaxy and when you fight him he does this cool move where he rolls in a ball and tries to hit you. It would be awesome if he did that in brawl.

This was expected considering that a Nintendo console always ends up with the highest rated game because hey it's Nintendo baby! Domination is at hand with the Wii.
