Mega Man 9 for WiiWare

Mega Man 9 for WiiWare

It's been confirmed in Nintendo Power magazine that Mega Man 9 will be heading to WiiWare as a downloadable game.

Fans of the NES originals (Mega Man 2 FTW) will be pleased to know that it's probably a 2D side-scroller. A number of enemies are already known:

    Mega Man 9 bosses
  • Concrete Man
  • Galaxy Man
  • Hornet Man
  • Jewel Man
  • Magma Man
  • Plug Man
  • Poop Man (nah not really)
  • Splash Woman (wait.. what?)

Dr Wily's back, this time the story revolves around him blaming Dr Light for all the robot carnage taking place. Mega Man sets out to clear his creator's name, bringing the real culprit to justice.

Mega Man 9 sets out to be a real homage to the 8-bit classics, you'll control Mega Man using the Wiimote held sideways. The music will also recreate the blips and bloops from an age gone by.

Bravo Capcom, bravo.

I have mixed feelings about this. I'm sure playing MM@ for a few hours will clear everything up =D.

Finally, Megaman returns to his roots. Out of all the mascot characters he is the most corrupted, with all those lousy versions and spinoffs. Although I did like megaman legends and the x series, it's about time he got a GREAT GAME, not just a good game or a crappy game. Hopefully Capcom can pull this off.

Thank you Capcom for doing something on Wii right. Seriously every series that is good but creates too many craps is called a MEGA MAN (Sonic, Final Fantasy anyone).

Finally! A good WiiWare game.

Seriously Diddy Kong Lover, why must you be a jerk towards Sonic? I mean, I'll agree with you on Final Fantasy, but enough is enough. Back on topic, I think Mega Man is, in my opinion, overrated, but maybe Mega Man on Wii would be interesting.

*sigh! Look Phantom, just because you're the only person that's obsessed with Sonic, doesn't mean you can diss great games like Mega Man & Final Fantasy.

SP, as much as I'd hate to admit it, what DKL says is somewhat true. Sonic games HAVE been less fun lately, but still, if megaman could make a comeback like this, so could Sonic.

I'm with you on MM2, although MM3 was the first one that I played. MMX2 was the best of the X series, but MMX5 has the best boss music out of all of them. Rockman and Forte definitely redeemed the series and should be the official MM9. I want to go on about the good MM games but I personally think that it went downhill after a certain point for both series. I'm still an old school MM fanboy and I expect nothing but the best for this new one.

Poop Man must have come from Uranus, right? I mean, couldn't have been from Mars or something.

I'm excited that the original Mega Man would make a comeback. He had not being on a Nintendo home console since the Super NES and the Game Boy Advance's Mega Man and Bass was his swansong. The anniversary collection was a good flashback but what we really need now is the real Mega Man and it really is interesting that Capcom is bringing him back and sadly for the last time.

Because, Sonic Phantom, Diddy Kong Lover is unfortunately one of those Nintendo fanboys who still refuses to accept that more or less Sonic and Mario are now on good terms. I like the other type of Nintendo fanboy better. Wait. Seriously Megaman NINE? That's a pretty long series I'd say. Phew.

Uh, Darius, I'm not obessed with Sonic. I'm a fan, but not a fanboy. I'm just stating on what I think of his review. And Wii Rox, as long as Sonic's games continue to sell, then more games will come. I just wish people would shut their trap about Sonic's "bad times" as you call it.

I guess you have a point, I'm a big sonic fan too. Now, one last thing before we go completely off topic, Gum you must have a reason for thinking that way.

Sonic games have become recycled garbage, it's true. Don't be blind and defend it simply because you love Sonic. I mean c'mon, he's a knight and a were-wolf-hedgehog thing? Jeezuz. Oh yeah and I remember a time when the camera would actually stay on Sonic. These developers need to follow Capcom's lead and get back to what really made these games successful. Start from the beginning and work your way up again. Great graphics with horrible gameplay/story is like putting sprinkles on dog crap.

Sonic Phantom said:

The End, that's your OPINION. Anything you say isn't always a fact, and you know it. So what if he's a knight and a werehog? Why don't you wait until you play the game FIRST. Then if you don't like it, you can complain all you like it. Don't try and sway other people who like Sonic because of this 'crap' you're saying. That makes you a purist.

Megaman is the DEFINITION of Recycled Garbage. As in, the first game that isn't EXACTLY like the one before it with different weapons (X6) was immediately called TRASH. The following from a Sonic fan: Yes, Sonic is in a slump, starting with Shadow the Hedgehog, and perhaps excluding only Sonic Heroes. What kind of DBZ stuff are they trying to pull with Silver? But, that doesn't excuse the fact that Capcom is using the same exact game over and over and over with a new number and new, but not very creative, bosses and levels. Battle Network 3, Zero 2, Megaman 8, MM&B, Xtreme Legends, X6-8, and command mission are the best Megaman games, and yet closed-minded purists refuse all but 4 of those games as Megaman.
