Pachter predicts July sales

Pachter predicts July sales

Well respected analyst Michael Pachter has been making predictions again. He says console sales in the US for July will look like this:

July 2007

  1. Wii - 330,000
  2. PS3 - 160,000
  3. Xbox 360 - 115,000

His predictions last month turned out to be remarkably accurate, so these probably aren't far off either. The official NPD figures will be released next week.

How would the PSuck3 sell more than the 360 at any given time? That's just beyond me. I'm not saying I want the 360 to be successful, I'm really not, I'm just saying it's hard to believe that the PSuck3 is going to sell more than it.

I'm always in awe of how successful the Wii turns out to be (heh, it rhymes♪). When Brawl comes out, PSuck3 (thanks Scooby) and 360 are going down.

The only reason the PS3 has sold more consoles recently is because of the $100 price-cut on systems still sitting on store shelves. A lot of Sony fans rejoiced about this, claiming it would make the system more market-competitive in the long run. However, in typical Sony fashion, the company has shot themselves in the foot. Sony announced at E3 that the price cut would only apply to systems currently in stock in stores. Once these systems are gone, the system (including the 80GB model) will be back up to its original price.

360 is going to kill PS3 this Fall. But Wii is going to make a mockery out of both of them.

In the US, nah, 360 is definitely going to beat the PS3. Maybe in Japan. But he sure is right about the Wii.

Metroid Prime 3 Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Brothers Brawl. Three reasons you want a Wii.
