MLB Power Pros hitting Wii

Konami and 2K have announced they'll be bringing popular Japanese baseball franchise Power Pro Baseball onto Wii in the US.

The series features a unique art style where players look like simplified miis with rounded body parts. Titled MLB Power Pros, the game will be based on the major league. Every player will be depicted as one of these round blobby characters, with facial hair and expressions you should recognize (if you're into baseball). All of the ballparks will be recreated too, each with their famous landmarks.

Said to feature "pick up and play" batting, MLB Power Pros will be out later this year.

Hmm, kind of reminds me of the NFL Street series where they take NFL players and "street" them up. I'm curious to see how characters like Poppy or Dmitri Young will turn out.

The screenshots seem to show a larger amount of detailed physics than what we saw in Wii Sports, so that'd be pretty cool, but I'm not going to get this game. I can get a similar type of satisfaction from Wii Sports and that came with the console, so it really would be a waste of money for me to get this game. I don't advise the same plan for major baseball fans though. I just don't really care for any sports so I don't blow my money on sports games.

How do you know, you could get similar satisfaction. Wii Sports baseball was pretty shallow, so if they can make an arcade baseball with a little more depth, that would be great.
