Nintendo 2nd richest company in Japan

Since the introduction of DS and the Wii, Nintendo shares have been soaring. This week, Nintendo has been confirmed as the second most valuable company in Japan. The top 3 currently looks like this:

  1. Toyota
  2. Nintendo
  3. Canon

Big N's market value is now 8.39 trillion yen (USD $73.03 billion). In the second quarter of this year (April-June) Nintendo sold 3,430,000 Wii consoles. By comparison Sony managed to sell 710,000 PS3s.

It makes me wonder why Toyota halted production of the Supra. The Camry Solara is not helping them in the affordable sport coupe segment. I would take a TRD Supra over a IS-F anyday. It's no wonder Nintendo is the richest. The funny thing is that EVERY Wii is profitable. Nintendo has done it again. They make Sony look incompetent in comparison because Sony also makes other electronics. Although Nintendo does the same thing, their products are mainly marketed to the JP region.

I've just sold British gas and alliance and leicester bank shares, I'm exec to my mothers last will and testament. I asked the share dealings guy how much Nintendo shares were worth he said ?257 each, I nearly fell off my chair luckily I sold all mum's shares just before the uk bank crash that's just taken place *wipes brow*.
