Until recently wii.com was a website related to lumber owned by the Weyerhaeuser Corporation. The website has now disappeared and currently leads to a Network Solutions domain parking page. The likely reason for this would be that Nintendo have bought it and have plans to develop the domain.

If you go to wii.com without the www it redirects to Nintendo's homepage. Pretty solid proof that Nintendo bought it.
