MK cheaters rammed off the road
Since its recent release, Mario Kart Wii has suffered from players cheating. This has been particularly noticeable in the Time Trial sections, where impossible times have been recorded.
Interestingly, the source of the problem was that once the timer hit 99 it would reset back to zero, allowing cheaters to then finish a track in under a second.
According to reports, Nintendo has now plugged these exploits and deleted records held by cheats.

Wasting 99 minutes to cheat. And they had to know it would get wiped right away. /me shakes head. Ah well, I'm sure it was fine while it lasted. I'm glad Ninty jumped on this right away. I hope this doesn't hint at a continuing battle with cheaters! That, or they can start marking accounts as cheaters if it becomes a recurring problem, and even allow an option to never race with or see any scores from confirmed cheaters. That'd be interesting.

I thought that cheating meant hacking into the game for ones own benefits and ticking off other players. Actually, this isn't really a cheat, but a glitch. So, they'd be called "Glitchers"?

Cheaters never prosper.

That's sick.

That sucks, people shouldn't cheat.
insultman911
That would take less than 2 hours, more than 1 hour to do the cheat anyway.

GRRR! Why did they decide not to release it in America now?

I'm looking forward to Rainbow Road, the next set of circuits and my other favorite jungles.

Great.

Hmm, can't they still cheat by waiting for the timer to get back to a time slightly under the current record?
Master Foot
That is a clever exploit. I feel sorry for the person who wasted their life trying to beat a 1 second lap time.

Wow how pathetic can people get.

And Nintendo did this with no patch or hard drive. Funny that hey, hmmm hard drive, whatever sony fanboys.

I had no idea you guys were against cheating so much. It's a good thing. Cheating's ruined a lot of games, all because of Action Replay and other cheat devices. I guess some people are too lazy to do things right.
YoshLee
Old saying, a winner never cheats and a cheater never wins.

You know what's really sad? How do you think those guys found out about the cheat? They were probably so bad it took them over 99 minutes to complete a lap! [Personally I don't like using cheats. I especially hate people who hack into games like pokemon and stuff who try to get omega pokemon and destroy all others with them. I only use cheats if the game gives them to you. (examples: New Super Mario Brothers, several other games)].
Diddy Kong Master
It's a waste of time cheating because nobody will believe them anyway.

Hey I want to try that without online though.
Crimson Fang
Six days and it'll be out. I want to race you guys! Wii's World, host a tournament! Please?
Wiipaw
I'm ok with action replay, but only when I beat the game I'm using it with. People who use it to beat games using invincibility and unlimited [useful item] codes are just pathetic. Actually, I tell my parents to hide it so I won't get tempted.
