Nintendo discuss Manhunt 2
The recent announcement that Manhunt 2 would be available on Wii was something of a surprise, since the game is likely to be extremely violent. When approached for comment, Nintendo's Senior Director of Corporate Communications (nice title) Beth Llewelyn stated:
"Manhunt 2 is not developed or published by Nintendo. It's one of the many titles released by third party publishers for our system that appeal to people of all ages and interests. Just as with movies, television and books, different video games appeal to (and are appropriate for) different audiences".
She also encouraged video game retailers to follow the ESRB ratings when selling software, and for parents to utilize the Wii's Parental Control features if they are concerned.

About time Nintendo shed the kiddy image. Thanks of course to a 3rd party. I've stayed with Nintendo because I've enjoyed the exclusives that they have but I've wished for more adult games without the need of buying a second system. Hope this finally comes to pass now that I'm getting too old soon to hit 12 button combos and crap like that.

Snake is third party for brawl, maybe the main character from this game might be good.

It's the retailers' job to ensure that games are sold to the appropriate age groups. Nintendo needs to keep their hands out of that. Let's not make such a big deal out of it and embrace the M rated mayhem.

It's all well and good for Nintendo or 3rd party companies to release these games but what about the soft-assed governments that keep banning 'em? It's BS. If parents don't want kids exposed to it, DON'T BUY IT.
