Reggie wants to win over Halo crowd
In an interview, Nintendo of America's President, Reggie Fils-Aime commented that he would like to bring hardcore gamers from other consoles back to Big N's way of thinking.
"We think we can win over the Halo audience with something like The Conduit, a multi-player online shooting experience, or Dead Space Extraction. And you know what? Once those people buy into Wii, they'll go buy Mario Kart Wii or Wii Fit Plus".
Is the Regginator being a little too optimistic there?

I wouldn't just assume that the hardcore gamers will jump back to Nintendo because of one or two games. I hope Conduit is good, I already have mine reserved. If it gets good publicity then maybe when the second one comes out then people will get it, but to think that people will come over for one game then get stuck having to play one of the 8000 "party" games for Wii is a joke. Metroid TOM will help with that too, I think.

It's not that easy, unless some more hardcore games come out for the Wii.

Well, there aren't that much party games for Wii, Nintendo will maybe reveal more fps' to win crowds over. Halo ds. Or Halo Wii. Ya know what I am saying?

Halo is not meant for Wii or ds. Let microsoft keep their stupid games to themselves.

Even as an avatar, Reggie just creeps me the hell out.

I think a big draw about halo and call of duty is the multiplayer. I doubt many people bought halo just for the campaign and still play the campaign at all. Playing against others is all about the spirit of competition, which the majority of the halo crowd has. Unfortunately, Wii doesn't completely satisfy the online multiplayers.

Aaah. Good luck Reggie. Halo's fanbase is just nuts. Microsoft likes to suck money like blood, and their fans like halo. One good shooter on the Wii is not going to change all their minds.

They don't want generic shooters on its console. Being original is the key to success.

I don't know GC I bought the gamecube only to get SSBM and that's the ONLY reason I wanted it, then once I got it I tried out other games, like animal crossing, etc. So Reggie might be on to something.

It will be difficult to win the halo fans as the majority, ironically, are bratty 8 year olds. Also is it me or does Reggie make the creepiest facial expressions?

I used to play a lot of halo, and the online is the key that the Wii is missing. Winning over those fans isn't going to work with the safety measures Nintendo is taking. First, online chat in open matches is necessary. Also, the friend code is too annoying. On xbox you can find a friend and then have them for all games. It's too much hassle having to EACH swap 12 digits. Another key element that is working with Halo is being able to take people on with you. If you can take yourself and some friends on for some unranked matches, more people will play. Nintendo can't rely on Sega for hardcore games like Madworld and the Conduit.

If you go to the site, it looks like the conduit will have sweet multiplayer action. 12 people at a time for some sweet 6 on 6 action, plus you can use Wii speak to communicate with team mates. Sounds like a winner to me, but I guess I will see how good it is in a few weeks.

Hey, at least the internet is free for Wii, with the losers with xboxes paying 60 bucks a year to play some stupid kid in china.
Son Ninja
Forget the Halo crowd, just keep up on releasing good games and someday they'll be playing a different kind of game.
