June 2008 NPD numbers
June's sales figures for the three home consoles in the US look like this, according to the NPD Group:
- Wii - 666,000
- PS3 - 405,500
- Xbox 360 - 219,800
Once again, Wii comfortably outsells both the PS3 and 360 combined. Do I hear a lulz? These sales mean Nintendo Wii is now officially the best selling console in North America (of the current gen).

PS3s starting to pick up some speed. Xbox needs to lower its price to pick up with the competition. But I hear that sony stated that it will never actually make profit off of the ps3 no matter how well it does seeing as they've already spent quite a lot of money on marketing and such.

This proves that even games like Metal Gear Solid 4 for PS3 and Ninja Gaiden 2 for X-Box 360 did nothing to help sell the competitor consoles at all. GTA IV had already failed to sell systems and since that no game had being successful enough to become a system seller than any on the Wii.

The best selling title on the Wii right now is the bundle game, Wii Sports! It is because of that game that the Wii is still selling like hotcakes to this day. Sony and Microsoft better start bundling a title or two for their PS3 or X-Box 360 because the Wii is taking all their money and legacy.
