NPD figures for July 2007

Michael Pachter's predictions were a little off this time, he underestimated Wii's sales by quite a distance, as well as the 360's. The official NPD console sales numbers for the month of July look like this:

  1. Nintendo Wii - 425,000
  2. Nintendo DS - 405,000
  3. Sony PSP - 214,000
  4. Xbox 360 - 170,000
  5. Sony PlayStation 3: 159,000
  6. Game Boy Advance: 87,000

It's the Wii's best month so far in the US, its sales are on the rise while the 360 seems to be flagging. Go Big N!

With Halo 3 right around the corner, there's no doubt in my mind that the 360 will be making up some ground in the near future. This phase of the console war will see Sony left behind. Wait a second. PSP sold more than the 360?

PS3 is actually catching up to 360. Maybe it's because of Heavenly Sword and Warhawk. That's nothing compared to the overhyped Halo 3 and Bioshock. With that said, I'm surprised that 360 made relatively low numbers. Wii just continues to amaze me. Imagine when WiiFit hits, along with Smash and Galaxy, you will have to fight soccermoms and octogenerians to make it home with a Wii this season.

It's selling better in the US than Japan. 100,000+ consoles a week. Man, why did Microsoft and Sony even try?
