Some fresh new information from Nintendo has surfaced on the full version of Opera and its features.
First up is that it will have a search button incorporated into its toolbar and start page.
Opera built-in search button.
The development team envisages Opera Wii often being used by a number of people sitting around the tv, a different type of experience than that of the PC. The full version will include multiple cursors for people to point and draw attention with. Of course, only one Wiimote can be used to operate the browser.
Multiple cursors on Opera Wii.
A number of other improvements will also be in place:
The full version of the Opera browser for Wii is now likely to be released in April.

YES! Now, where's my Wii baby's keyboard?
Koen van Beeck said:
No tabs? Dag.
B Darius said:
Will you be able to watch videos? Because you can't with the Trial Version.
DragonFoxCoon said:
I agree with stinky. I'm sure that people with PSPs hate having to do everything with that nubbin thing; much easier to use a touch screen. I'm sure "aiming" at letters is sure to cause a lot of traveling to wrong sites.

That's hot.

It's well worth the wait it seems, just like everything Nintendo has made us wait for. Good going, guys.
Yoshi-1up said:
Yeah, that's all it needs. A Keyboard!

Where is the tabbed browsing? Where is the cached loading?
Cody said:
Tabs please. Some form of window media player emulation would be great too. May not be in legal rights though.

Keyboard damn it! KEY-BOARD! This will make it easier to type in 100 character friend codes, yay.

I want to have a compatible USB keyboard and maybe a mouse too.

This is the most awesome thing I've seen that will be downloadable soon.

Now that sounds like some good and needed improvements. Having to zoom in on text every time you wanted to read something was a pain. A hidden toolbar is a welcome addition, and instant favourites menu is a nice bonus.

Woah that is awesome, can't wait for it.

Sweet. One of my 360 owning friends has been really excited about this product. Can't wait to tell him.

YES! Looks like some great features. And oh my god I was so hoping for that multiple pointers thing, and I was also hoping that my sister couldn't control it at the same time as me!

You can watch vids on trial version, google/youtube/live video.

Still no java support.
Mike said:
Given we have a motion detecting remote, why couldn't they have kept Opera's gestures?!
Epsilon said:
Alright! Now let's see a Wii Keyboard Nintendo.

I've been able to watch videos on the trial version fine on YouTube.

Needs 2 things - keyboard and java.

The full version is free until june 30th. That gives you a lot of time to download the free version, even if you don't meet the deadline you only have to pay 5 dollars.

Java support? Oh dear.
Whee wii said:
Great advantage for Wii console compared to other much expensive machines like PS3 or such. Wii(key)board would be great but Java support would be even greater improvement. Some 2 player java games would be great playing with wii remote, if it really does support 2 remotes or more.
Jonathan Coit said:
I need java! I am on Opera right now and wish I could watch some videos. Damn.

I wish I had java right now to play runescape.

I want to play rs really bad.

A lot of stock USB keyboards work out of box. Plug into the Wii and give a try. I have an old wireless M$ keyboard and it works fine. The only annoying part is that the Wii disables the keyboard connection anytime a text field doesn't have the focus (i.e. Not where you can type). Not a big deal, but sometimes causes my wireless keyboard fits.
Williams said:
Java will be an expected feature for the Wii for me. No excuse not to have it.
wonderwhy said:
Why is there no java in the web browser?
Skinny said:
Yeah, java would be nice. To play rs, of course.
karson said:
I want javascript for rs! And keyboards are out now.
Duo Beard said:
I need Javascript to play RS as well! Stupid no-javascript.
Stilenx said:
The Wii will accept and use a USB keyboard. I have a usb 2.0 keyboard plugged into the back of my Wii that I use all the time.
cramski said:
I agree. The browser needs to support java.
