Over 45s and women getting their game on
Reports by TNS Worldpanel Entertainment indicate that people over the age of 45 have bought more games than any other age group in the UK over the last 4 years. Apparently the oldies group has seen a 41% increase in games bought for personal use.
Women gamers also seem to be on the increase, sales seeing a 67% rise. Females now account for 15% of video game purchases (bought for their own playing).
Nintendo are known to be a major driving force behind all this, with games like Nintendogs and Brain Training on the DS being huge success stories and widening the market.
