In a recent interview, Nintendo big man Reggie Fils-Aime talked about Wii's progress in Europe. He confirmed that Europe is in the same situation as all other regions, Wiis are selling out as soon as they hit the shelves.
When asked how Wii was stacking up against the competition he commented:
"Well, there's no PS3 yet... 360 is selling well only in one country: the UK. Across the rest of Europe, it is not performing well. Wii, on the other hand, is selling exceptionally well all through Europe".
Technically the UK is four countries, but I suppose we'll let that one slide.

Wii's World is not officially affiliated with Nintendo! (but they wish we were).

Actually, the UK is one country, with four "constituent countries" which basically means that they aren't really countries, but subsidiaries of Great Britain. Kind of like states in America, but not really, because Wales, England, Scotland, and Ireland were separate countries before 1800 when they all combined, whereas American states were all part of America before they were subdivided. I'm ignoring a lot of history, but the point is that they are not separate countries. So BOOYAH!

The uk is england, scotland and wales, but it's only a tiny part of ireland (northern ireland). Seeing this is the only tiny part that the 360 sells best at, this could be good news for Nintendo, but shamefully it could be for sony too.

Yeah, that's pretty much true.

Wait, Europe doesn't have a PS3 yet! That's weird. It's just great that the Wii is progressing well though.

I'm a uk geezer and the "chav culture" is just mind numbing. It's these hooded idiots that think ps3 and 360 are so BAD OR SICK AS THEY PUT IT, it's these moron teenagers that are buying 360 and will buy ps3. I'm really surprised the psp didn't outsell ds in uk as before they launched I predicted great things for DS but not in uk. I honestly thought that in the uk psp would win. The ignorance culture, the let's go and stab an innocent soul culture, let's steal from oaps culture, let's hit our mums culture, that exists in the uk is to blame. Sorry I'm english myself but I'm beginning to hate this damn island Wii live on. Even the kid in the 360 advert in the uk looks like a "CHAV".

That pisses me off, anytime I have to enter info on a site and it asks for 'Country' the drop-down menu never has England, just UK. I live in England, more specifically London and have NOTHING to do with Ireland, Scotland or Wales. Come on world WAKE UP!

The ps3 launches tonight in Europe (22nd march) and I've heard the queues aren't even half the size of what there was for the Wii.
Ekaj185 said:
The PS3 queues in New Zealand. Oh wait, there were none! Apparently only 150 gamers pre-ordered, and the rest are either gonna get one when the price goes down or not at all.

Your totally right HOMEgrown, on websites it always says "UK and Ireland", and I basically think the same as you exept I'm Irish so don't like being thought of as Welsh, Scottish or English. And some guy said up there that "Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England are like states in America, well, he couldn't be more wrong. England, Scotland and Wales are separate nations and the Republic Of Ireland is a COMPLETELY separate nation.
Wii In Eire said:
ACTUALLY! Ireland is completely independent, NORTHERN Ireland however is still part of the UK. Southern (officially, The Republic Of) Ireland is a republic. It's not a simple mistake to mix it together with the UK and is certainly not well received.
