Shantae Wii?

According to reports, Voldi Way of WayForward Technologies is looking at the WiiWare service as a potential platform for a new Shantae game.

Originally published by Capcom, the first game was on Game Boy Color. Shantae is a half-woman half-genie from Sequin Land, her job is to guard a small fishing town.

A sequel on GBA was planned, and a demo created, but unfortunately the full game never saw the light of day. Here's a clip of that demo:

Looks like it would have been fun!
