How wrong did that headline sound. Shigeru Miyamoto sat down with Famitsu magazine recently for a biscuit and an interview. In a segment of the latter he claimed the future is in games that aren't difficult, but are fun to play. Using Super Mario Galaxy as an example, he commented:
"We are making Super Mario Galaxy as a new experience which aims at providing a very appealing, convincing and -before all- fun experience. If we manage to do so, then I'm sure even the core gamers will find it appealing".
I don't know, games are already too easy these days if you ask me. Isn't the challenge a part of what makes it fun?

Wii's World is not officially affiliated with Nintendo! (but they wish we were).

Yes. But you have to admit easy fun. It's easy, AND fun! Wohoo! Second lifetime first-post.

Galaxy is going to sell because it's Mario, whether it's too easy or not.

Ok that is cool, making games fun and more interesting, but games need more of a challenge. Yes mario is an easy game, but it has challenges.

Games should be challenging. But who knows what Mario Galaxy will be like.

I mean first lifetime first-post, and what I have to agree with you on that one. Mario is a good game and it has challenges. But things that are easy are really fun too, like driving at 250 mph and ramming cars from behind on an Atlanta freeway (Midnight Club 3). What I'm trying to say is that easy, or challenging games are fun and that's all that really matters.

Oh yes. Challenging and interesting. But how can you really make everyone like it? The world may never know. And did you guys hear? Mario Galaxy might be Co-op. Hip Hip Hurrah.

I think it is a good idea. Aren't any of you tired of struggling to get past a part of a game that seems impossible to accomplish!?

I just want this game.

Nice pic! Games are plenty easy now, we want fun, but also a sense of accomplishment.

I hope they don't take all challenges out of the games; I hate having the game handed to me on a silver platter as opposed to having the game hand my ass to me on a silver platter. I'll admit it would be fun to take a break from all the high blood pressure and just have some fun every now and then, but let's face it: Games need challenges to be fun. Goals must be set, records must be broken, all misc items must be obtained. Without challenges, it's just like putting in a game, having it say "YOU WON!" and that's it.

Easy fun? Well I guess it doesn't matter, unless it's as easy as the dora the explorer games my sister plays.

I would be very excited if they ever make a game that has no point. I mean, like a physics game. I love those.
