If you're a member of Nintendo Europe you've likely received an email by now describing some new terms. If you want to keep your account you need to agree to these terms by July 15th (in one month's time).
Future Star points gathered will expire within 2 years, stars gotten before these new terms run out in 1 year.
None of this is particularly bad news though, because the email goes on to say you will soon be able to swap stars for Wii Points! Woop.

What are stars? I'm American, so I kind of feel left out.

Well particularly, I don't think anyone will care much about this. I'm not from Europe (glad about that). July 15th? Weird. That would be two days before my birthday.

Yay, I just got this email. If only they gave an exact date. And don't anybody dare mention that the europeans get everything first.

How the heck do you get stars? Do they have them in America?
Jskrdude said:
Gonzo, I don't think you can get stars in America. Even if we could, I don't think it would be worth getting them now if they're going out of style.

Europe doesn't get everything first. America got the Wii first! Even before japan did.

You get stars by entering a code with every Nintendo game you purchase. Only in Europe I think.

Looking forward to it too, hope the conversion rate is a kind one.

Stars were the European version of club nintendo but with lamer things such as wallpapers for your pc and mobile ringtones. Now they are getting changed so you can convert them into Wii points to buy virtual console games.
