Street Fighter IV Wii not ruled out

Yoshinori Ono, a producer at Capcom has gone on record and said Street Fighter IV could possibly head to the Wii. He feels the game could work on any platform, since it's the controls that are important, rather than graphical details.

"Street Fighter IV, as it stands now, would be well suited for the higher level platforms. But the game doesn't need these visuals in order to be fun. We could go, potentially, to the Wii. We could make it on Game Boy for all we know right now".

"As long as the rules are the same, that can be independent of the visuals. So we're not going to be limited by any hardware specs; we're going to aim as wide as possible".

Of course, this is no confirmation by any means, and could just be lip service.

Well I do hope it comes out on Wii. If not I do have a PS2. So I can hope for that system if not the Wii, and if not PS2 then I must cry for I am Super Hero In Training out of luck (think about it).

I hope it is true, the last good one on a Nintendo was Super Street Fighter II on SNES. Too many hardcore games are put on the other 2, companies are way underestimating Wii. If this is released maybe more companies will actually make serious Wii games.

Oh man, let's hope it comes to Wii. Street fighter is probably the best fighting game next to the Super Smash Bros series.

Sounds kewl I guess. I never really played street fighter when I was younger.

The old "Wii dosen't have the processing power" excuse was getting pretty old. Although graphics don't really matter for Streets, they should not half ass it. They also shouldn't put in waggle for the heck of it because that will totally break the game. Then again, it would open the gate to a sonic boom spamfest.

HA! Great image! Oh man, that is probably one of the greatest Naruto references I'll ever see, freaking awesome. That said, good news. People like Street Fighter.

SSBB is all The fighter we need thank you.

I would have to disagree. Although Smash is good it can't hold the fighting genre for Wii on its shoulders. Wii needs more games Streets, Guilty Gear and Tekken to make it a contender.

I doubt Tekken will go on Wii, but I'm hoping for SFIV, Tekken 6, and VF6 all being on the Wii. Fighting games are my all time favorite genre of video games.

How can you call ssbb a real fighting game when you really only have 4 basic moves besides punch or kick or how about combos? What's the max combo a person could do? 1v1v1v1 is fun and all but I tend to like fighting games that take a lil bit more strategy than keep attacking here or there or just avoid everyone until someone is about to get KOed, then jump in and KS someone. 1v1 that takes thinking. Move wise is a bit funner.

The glory that once shone, Street Fighter II on the Super NES now lies with the Wii. We can only hope for Capcom to make the right decision. Might I remind them that the Super NES version of Street Fighter II: The World Warrior was indeed Capcom's best selling home console title in history, why not make SFIV a part of that history?

We should make a e-signing and send it to capcom, to show how interested we are for SF IV to come to Wii.

I hope they make Street Fighter IV for the Wii, because I think it would be way better than all the other consoles.

It has to come out for the Wii. Why? It's simple: Wii's selection of games are crap. Give me excitement, give me adventure, give me HADOKIN. Bam. Straight in the face. Or Chun-Li doing the can-can on coke. Yeah, and the Wiimote. I want to try Dhalsim and slap some street urchins.

I hope this comes to the Wii. I've been playing SFII on my cousin's SNES since I was like 3 (no joke) and was glad to get it on the VC. Then when SFIV came out I got it and it made me finally crack down and use my brothers 360 which I rarely EVER do unless one of my friends wants to play on it with me and guess what about 3 days later something gets wrong with the AV cables breaking the god forsaken thing and it was like brand new. I can't imagine what could have screwed it up. Now I'm going to have to either pay for it to be repaired or find a replacement part. Honestly I wish all systems were as sturdy as the Wii. Basically I'm not playing SFIV on any over priced console (PS3) or console with flimsy poorly made parts (360), so the Wii is my only REAL choice for SFIV.

What strategy is there in memorizing button combinations and doing them? And what you described as smash bros. Strategy is more or less the strategy for any fighting game ever made. Hit them until they die.

Legend said:

Yup, it should. Let's make a petition. Because unlike Tekken 6, Street Fighter 4 has a higher possibility to release on Wii.

Meh Tekken is over rated anyways, SF owns.

Actually street fighter alpha 2 was the last game on a Nintendo system. But that game was awful so maybe it's better if we just forget that one. I remember playing as dan, birdy, charlie and akuma in a very slow and awful gaming experience.

Truly, I'm very disappointed in Capcom for not releasing Street Fighter IV for the Wii (yet). Street Fighter II: The World Warrior on the SNES, and I mean the SNES AlONE, was THE BEST SELLING Capcom game of all time, and even sold better than Turbo and Super, point blank. Why not come back to Nintendo with STIV? I miss the days when Capcom used to produce Nintendo-only releases.

Hm, maybe we can expect it. After all, these past few years with Capcom have been generous for us Nintendo owners. Don't know why though. You'd think Wii would be even less of a candidate for games like this than say GCN or N64. Here's hoping fellas.

Has anyone seen Tatsunoko vs Capcom on the Wii? I'm not kidding when I say the graphics are "2.5D" just like in SF4. So I reckon it's more than possible to do it. Come on Capcom! The SNES made SF2 famous in homes, and help create a lot of the fuss about Street Fighter that's around now. So it's time to pay those Nintendo fans back.

You can't really complain, capcom moved monster hunter 3 to Wii from ps3. But yea I hope SFIV comes out for Wii.

Tatsunoko vs capcom has great graphics. Is it really so hard to do that with street fighter IV on Wii?

Love sf4, played on ps3, it needs to be on Wii but more than likely won't. I think that's why they made that butt sucking Tatsunoko vs capcom. I played it at gamestop and hated it, glad I didn't buy it. The Wii can handle it, just look a super mario galaxy 1&2, great graphics and SF is tick for tack with it.
