2 player co-op in Brawl's Adventure Mode
The Adventure Mode experience in Super Smash Bros Brawl needn't be a lonely one, you can play co-operatively with a friend.
Based on characters you encounter as you play through the Subspace Emissary, you can choose these fighters to make up your team. Each time you lose a life, you will respawn as a new character from the lineup until they're all gone.
Player one acts as the main fighter who the camera follows at all times. Player two has a 'space jump' available in the event that the screen scrolls on without them.
There are five different difficulty settings as well, each more rewarding than the last.

Wow this means you need to get good with all the characters or at least the ones on your team. This game gets better every day.
Yeah 1 of the best update weeks and I agree with Ganon Man 62 the game will help you practice characters you would never even consider, and thus make you a better smasher overall.
There was a health bar for the primid in screenshot #1. I hope you can do this 2 player mode online too.

Wow I wonder if we can do this with wi fi? But do you think the game got even harder? I can barely do very hard and intense, I'll need a lot of practice.

Hmm, things seem to be going this way: Pit must have either stopped/found Mario after being cannonballed by Petey Pirahna. After saving on of the princess one (in this case, Peach) disappears with the Subspace Army while the other one (This case, Zelda) joins with Kirby. From older screenshots we also know that Link is with Yoshi so they must be a team. I wonder how everyone else will team up as obviously they don't have to be grouped with characters from their own franchise (Though I wouldn't be surprised if the Pokemon characters traveled together because of the Pokemon Trainer).
THIS IS SO AWESOME! Friday never lets us down. I can play with other people and go on adventures. I didn't like adventure in melee. You can only go single and there's barely any adventure levels. They're almost all just fighting, but this is cooler.

I was worried that when my friend and I played, we would have to take turns. But now everything is awesome.

This had to be the best week of updates.
I knew it was going to be co-op ever since I saw Link with the random Yoshi behind him. This is the best thing that SSB needed. Now you can play single mode, but now its combined with the best feature in the game (which is multi-player) to make the ultimate story mode. EVER! I want to predict something else, I noticed that all the characters there are good, wheres Bowser, Wario and Meta-Knight? I suspect that the story depends on the side of the characters nature. And by the way, where does Snake stand in all this? This is awesome teasing!
December can't come soon enough. And I hope we see krystal from starfox in brawl, she'd fit in well in story mode.

A great update, even though I expected team play. Now you get to learn how to use each character. I wonder if new parts come in every time a new character is unlocked. AWESOME UPDATE.
This was a sweet update. I love how you can play as 2 players now and using more than one character.
Sweet! I always dreamed of the day this would happen.
I would team up and I would be mario and my friend could be luigi. I tried this combo in melee and it worked out perfectly. Mario grabs someone (that person needs to have a high percentage) and heaves him in the air, and luigi jumps high and uses his karate chop to blow em off the screen.
Sounds very much like playing as Tails in the old Sonic games, except that the "optional" character probably doesn't follow the lead around while not in use.

They marked a line between 1-P and VS Mode now. You can't choose your own character in Adventure mode.

If you played the past versions of SSB and you're awesome at it, you'll play good in brawl.
I can not wait to get this game, it looks amazing. I loved the first too but it took me so long to beat it. I hope it takes me even longer to beat this one and get all the characters. I hope young link is in this one and waluigi, he is my favourite. The new mario looks rockin and the background of the stage looks cool too.
Wait, I read the description above. This sucks now! I thought you can choose your own character! But now if you die, you have to pick a new one, wait, that's not half bad, but I only wanted to play as 1 character and also choose my own character.
I had a feeling this was coming since I read the interview when Sakurai said that he wanted the other characters to be helping Mario instead of just fighting against him.
I'm pretty sure that on the brawl website, the "Warning! Challenger approaching!" text above an added character could mean that the character needs to be unlocked somehow. I think that only the original characters will be playable in Subspace. Just a thought.

I can't wait to kick ass with Meta Knight while my brother, (ultimate with Kirby) is Kirby and teaming up together.
