Meet the new Wi-Fi Network Adapter by Nintendo. Intended to make connecting online easier for Wii and DS users, it has an 802.11g/b router built in and an AOSS button which means you won't have to enter any long security codes.
It's launching in Japan on September 18th for 5,800 Yen ($54.22 USD according to the current exchange rate).

So it's not going to launch in the US?

It does seem more reliable.

Haa. I don't need one. My connection is super.

I could certainly use one about now.

A regular router should be able to do the same thing. Maybe if it's easy to set up, then that may be a good selling point.

I know that the Wii/DS don't support 802.11n. But certainly within the next several years their replacements will. Why didn't Nintendo design an n router? Probably because they want to make an extra buck selling a different, newer router for the next systems. Until then I'll have to stick with my G-Link wireless N; where I would have blown $54.22 on something that I already own, they've lost a sale.

I agree with MediumBlueMetallic. If it was a abgn router with at least 3 ethernet ports, then it would have been a bargain. Nintendo has missed a serious opportunity to get back into consumer electronics. Oh well.
