Wii officially #1 in the US
According to a press release issued by Nintendo, the Wii has now officially forged ahead of the Xbox 360 and is the best selling home console in the US. This being based on reliable NPD numbers.
"Equaling its status on a worldwide basis, Wii has become the best-selling video game console in the United States. According to independent sales tracking information from the NPD Group, over 666,000 Wii consoles were sold for the month of June, and nearly 10.9 million have been sold in the US during the 20 months following its November 2006 launch. The system is credited with breaking down the psychological barriers between gamers and non-gamers".
This news has sparked further rumors that it does, indeed, print money. That is all.

Sigh. My ps3 and xbox360 fanboi friends are in total denial of this. They say US is stupid and they probably never even heard of PS3 and 360 and worldwide they say Wii can't even follow PS3 and 360. I think that's total bull.
