The devil's in the detail

Here are some fun little bits of info about the Wii you may or may not know:

* In Wii Sports Bowling, you can throw the ball behind you if you release the trigger on the backswing. It'll frighten the Miis behind you. You can also throw your ball onto other people's lanes.

* If there are mp3s on your SD card you can set one of them to be the background music during a slideshow.

* The Message Board records your playing time, but if you don't exit properly to the Wii menu before shutting off it will record it as "other" and not the correct game.

* When you receive an email the disc drive's blue light flashes and the Wiimote lets out a chirp.

I might put my whole cd collection on an sd card. Wii to surround amp in the house and mp3 player to car stereo in my golf gti. I'll go sd card crazy. You can also use wiimote with bluetooth PCs.

It apparently does not log in Gamecube playtime. I thought that it was "other".

SD cards are on sale at circuit city right now. 1 gig SanDisk for 14.99 (after rebate, 24.99 before). I bought 4 of them. One for all my rock and heavy songs, one for rap and hip hop, one for movies and one for my pictures, not including the micro I already have for my flashcart.
