Wii went home with the "breakthrough" award at the Spike TV Game Awards ceremony held last night. Other winners were games like Oblivion and Gears of War.
Hosted by Samuel L Jackson, the proceedings won't be on TV until Wednesday. The show will feature performances from AFI and Tenacious D.

The bands suck, but I love the news. Wiisworld, good job, you've officially blown every other Wii-based site away. Congratulations.

Awesome! I saw the nominations on T. V. Today and I knew that Nintendo Wii had to bring home the innovation/breakthrough award. I mean, come on, the other nomminees were electroplancton, PS3 and DS lite. Wii had to win.
