Wii champion of 2007

The sales figures for December are in. DS and Wii came out on top again:

  1. DS - 2,470,000
  2. Wii - 1,350,000
  3. Xbox 360 - 1,260,000
  4. PSP - 1,060,000
  5. PS3 - 797,600

These numbers round things off nicely, crowning Wii as the best selling home console of 2007. The totals for the year look like this:

  1. DS - 8,500,000
  2. Wii - 6,290,000
  3. Xbox 360 - 4,620,000
  4. PSP - 3,820,000
  5. PS3 - 2,560,000

If supplies were up the Wii would have been way ahead. I think 2008 will remain the same with improved supply I can see Wii continuing its lead, maybe even extending it.

I feel so joyful looking at this. Screw you Sony. Ahah but seriously it makes a change. Sony and Microsoft will be wii'ing in their pants now.

Did anyone else see this coming? I'll admit, what with Halo 3, Bioshock, Mass Effect. I was worried for a little bit. However, Mario and Metroid can work wonders, huh?

Wii was only outsold for one month, in 07, so we all know who was going to win for sales. 360 is really pulling good numbers despite being on the market longer and for its atrocious build quality. The PS3 bundles and the so-called price drops didn't really help the cause in my opinion. The only thing that kept DS from selling 10M was a third screen.
